Attorney Melvin Priester, Jr.

Melvin Priester, Jr., graduated from Harvard College magna cum laude in 2001.  In 2004, Melvin obtained his law degree from Stanford Law School. 

In 2008, Melvin returned home to Jackson and joined Priester Law Firm.

Melvin represents both individuals and businesses in commercial litigation, governmental affairs, real estate, personal injury law, family law, and medical malpractice. Melvin is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and California and is a member of several legal organizations, including the American Inns of Court.

Melvin has obtained positive results for clients at both the trial and appellate levels in a variety of areas.

From 2013–2019, Melvin served on the City Council of Jackson, Mississippi. He also serves on the board of directors for the Mississippi Public Broadcasting Foundation.

Attorney Charlene Stimley Priester

Elizabeth Charlene Stimley Priester is a fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation, having been recognized by her peers for her outstanding legal ability and her contributions to the profession.

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, she is a graduate of Lanier High School in the historic Georgetown neighborhood where pride in the “Bulldog Nation” runs deep.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Boston University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas School of Law, in Austin, Texas.  

Charlene is an active and dedicated member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Delta Zeta Chapter. 

Charlene is a member of the American Inns of Court, American Bar Association, Mississippi State Bar Association, Hinds County Bar Association, and the Magnolia Bar Association.   

Charlene is a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson.  Charlene is also an avid long distance runner who has received numerous awards for her efforts, including being MS State Games Female Athlete of the Year and MS Track Club Female Athlete of the Year.

Attorney Pernila “Penny” Stimley-Brown

Of Counsel at Priester Law Firm is Attorney Pernila (“Penny”) Stimley-Brown. Penny has over five decades of legal experience handling municipal and corporate finance as well as civil litigation and personal injury matters.  

Penny has been licensed to practice law in the States of Texas, Mississippi, and Illinois. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Seventh Circuits, and also before various federal district courts in these circuits.  

Prior to Priester Law Firm, Attorney Stimley-Brown worked with her siblings, Attorney Sherman E. Stimley in Texas, and Attorney Frank D. Stimley in Mississippi.  

Raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Penny attended Lanier High School and the University of Pennsylvania, received her Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, and completed additional courses at the University of Texas Law School in Austin.
